Okar Style Suits was an idea that sprung out of Stockholm, Sweden and came to life in 2015 in Canggu, Bali. Two trend aware places, in their very different ways and far from each other.
On the tropical side, where we now call home, you find that most people embrace patterns and colours, but most people wear similar beach outfits like flip-flops, shorts, shirts and tees to make sure everybody looks the same.
This as a contrast to the cold Scandinavian climate and our home city, where fashion is strict in black & white, and where most people dress the same sort of way in similar fashion of grayscale to stay safe. As if the weather was not depressing enough.
We started thinking how you don´t really people wearing suits in Bali, and how suits elsewhere are presented mostly in safe and plain colours. This makes it boring and stale to attend dressup parties where all men come across as similar personalities.
These thoughts, places, backgrounds and facts merged into a movement that became a label to represent something that looks slick and styling away from the norm. A trend walking down its own path and a finger to the tame and lame fashionistas that follow the people around them.
These suits are definitely not for everybody. Fact is, we don´t want everybody to wear them and we don´t even sell to anybody. Those who do wear them will come to know how bright they shine, wherever they go, and the positive vibes it attracts and sends out.
All suits are hand made on the island of gods (Bali), tailor made for your measurements to fit perfectly. And oh yeah… they are oh so limited to a maximum of 10 suits ever made of each model. Exclusively hand signed and numbered.
If you are lucky enough to already own one, you will find out just how desirable they are. You will also come to know just how many people that will walk up to you with compliments and appreciation of your extraordinary style.
Making suits and wearing them out and for many years.
Launch party was held in Stockholm, Sweden 2017.
